Hey Trainers fans of the anime pokemon franchise.

I know you have been a Pokémon fan from your childhood, you also love Pikachu, a mouse Pokémon, but what about the awesome and cute cats?

And for those cat lovers, I have made this list of the strongest Pokémon cat list since many of the best Pokémon are inspired by cats.

From wild tigers to house cats with attitude, the Pokémon universe has a wide range of feline creatures, some of which are strong enough to lead any team.

In this post, we rank the strongest cat Pokémon, explain their base stats in simple terms, why they’re strong, and even where they show up in the anime!

1. Incineroar

  • Type: Fire/Dark
  • Base Stat Total: 530
    • HP (95) – Decent survivability
    • Attack (115) – Very high, great for physical moves
    • Defence (90) – Can take physical hits
    • Sp. Atk (80) – Average
    • Sp. Def (90) – Can survive special moves
    • Speed (60) – Slow, but makes up for it with power

Why It’s Strong:

Incineroar is a tanky physical attacker that dominates the doubles format in competitive Pokémon battles.

Thanks to its Hidden Ability: Intimidate, it weakens enemy attackers on switch-in. It also learns Fake Out, Parting Shot, and Darkest Lariat, making it versatile and disruptive.

Anime Appearance:

In the Sun & Moon anime, Professor Kukui owns an Incineroar that battles Ash’s team in the finals.

It’s an absolute powerhouse and steals the show during the intense league battles!

Ash’s Incineroar made a lasting impact in the Alola League, evolving from Torracat. It helped Ash win his first championship!


2. Zeraora

  • Type: Electric
  • Base Stat Total: 600
    • HP (88) – Average
    • Attack (112) – Strong physical attacker
    • Defence (75) – A bit fragile physically
    • Sp. Atk (102) – Can also deal special damage
    • Sp. Def (80) – Balanced
    • Speed (143) – Extremely fast!

Why It’s Strong:

Zeraora is one of the fastest Pokémon in the game.

It hits hard with both physical and special moves and has Volt Absorb, which lets it heal if hit by Electric moves.

Its move Plasma Fists turns all Normal moves into Electric-type, which can be game-changing.

Anime Appearance:

Zeraora stars in Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us, where it protects the forest and shows incredible agility and power.

It leaves a lasting impression as a legendary guardian.


3. Entei

  • Type: Fire

    • HP (115) – Very high, great durability
    • Attack (115) – Hits hard physically
    • Defence (85) – Good physical defence
    • Sp. Atk (90) – Not bad for special moves
    • Sp. Def (75) – A bit low
    • Speed (100) – Pretty fast

Why It’s Strong:

Entei is a legendary lion-like Pokémon with a high base Attack and the signature move Sacred Fire (in some formats), which can burn enemies.

Its bulk lets it stay on the field, and it can play both offensive and supportive roles.

Anime Appearance:

Entei takes a central role in Pokémon 3: Spell of the Unown, where it appears as a majestic, protective force.

It even battles Charizard in one of the best movie fight scenes!


4. Raikou

Raikou appears in The Legend of Thunder! anime special, where it battles Team Rocket’s evil plans. Its electric aura and agility make it look like a true storm god.


5. Luxray

Why It’s Strong:

Luxray resembles a majestic lion and behaves like one. Its high Attack lets it dominate casual play, and it has access to Intimidate and strong moves like Wild Charge and Crunch.

It’s also one of the coolest-looking cats in Pokémon.

Ash’s rival Clemont uses Luxray in Pokémon XY, where it shows courage, strategy, and strength.

It has a strong bond with its trainer and even evolves during the series.


6. Meowscarada

Featured in Pokémon Horizons, Meowscarada is the final evolution of Sprigatito.

It’s seen using stealth and clever strategies, matching its magician-thief personality.

7. Leafeon

In Diamond and Pearl, Team Galactic’s Commander Mars uses Purugly as her signature Pokémon.

It dominates early battles and shows it’s not to be underestimated.


9. Alolan Persian

In Sun & Moon, it’s owned by multiple trainers, including Team Rocket’s rivals. Its smug attitude is both hilarious and dangerous, showing off its cunning nature.

10. Solgaleo

Solgaleo is a Legendary Pokémon from Generation VII and is considered one of the most powerful feline Pokémon of all time.

It’s not just a lion in design—its power and presence command respect.

It is known as the beast that devours the sun, and it lives up to that title with a monstrous 680 total base stat, putting it among the most powerful Pokémon in general, not just among cat Pokémon.

Anime Appearance:
Solgaleo appeared in the Pokémon Sun & Moon anime, specifically helping Ash and friends during their Ultra Beast adventures.

It even formed a bond with Lillie’s family, making its presence emotionally impactful as well as powerful.

11. Meowth

Why It’s Strong:
Statistically weak, but culturally iconic.

Meowth is the face of Team Rocket and is known for his intelligence and ability to speak human language—something no other Pokémon naturally does.

Anime Appearance:
This Meowth needs no intro—he’s been in nearly every episode of the anime alongside Jessie and James, adding humour and charm to the series.
